From a Procurement Platform
to an AI Data Platform for Manufacturing
CADDi was founded in 2017 as a procurement platform for custom-manufactured parts. We quoted from drawings, manufactured with partner factories, and inspected quality at our own facilities. We were participants in manufacturing, not observers, and we confronted the structure of this industry from the inside.
But an industry cannot evolve unless its structure changes. With that conviction, we began building software products in 2022. Today, we offer CADDi, the AI Data Platform for Manufacturing.
We received drawings, calculated costs, manufactured the parts with partner factories, then inspected them at our own facilities before delivery. Quality and on-time delivery were our responsibility, and ours alone.
Our first order was sheet-metal parts for trains. From there we moved on to complex components for construction machinery and the most critical parts of food-processing equipment. We also supplied most of the plant equipment used in Japan's largest semiconductor fab. Beyond delivering parts, we went on to provide design support and even assemble complete equipment systems. Every part was inspected by our own people, at our own inspection and logistics facilities in more than 10 locations worldwide, including the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, and Mexico.
Quoting, drawing analysis, supplier selection, inspection, inventory, production process management: we ran every one of these processes ourselves. To make each of them faster and more accurate, we built dozens of software tools for our own use, tools that made our operations simpler and far more valuable.
We learned the greatness and the difficulty of manufacturing from the inside. Everything we gained in that business is the foundation of the products we build today.

Launching Software Products, Integrating Our Businesses
From a Procurement Business
to an AI Data Platform Business
Working inside manufacturing, we watched the same deliberations play out again and again. A design error, once flagged, recurs. Similar parts are put out for competitive quotes from scratch, every time. Each department keeps its own data, yet none of it becomes an asset of the company.
To put an end to this reinvention of the wheel, we launched CADDi Drawer in 2022: a product that turns data scattered across departments into a shared asset the whole company can use. Decisions that once depended on a veteran's memory could now be made by looking at the data. Junior engineers could find answers on their own, without asking a senior colleague about every detail. Customers told us it had changed their company culture.
The industry we want to see is one where a company with a strength can focus on it and build on it, where productivity rises across the whole industry, and where talented people want to work. But we could never get there while we remained inside that structure as one more supplier. Design, procurement, and manufacturing each have their own problems, and stepping into any one of them alone cannot solve them, because the data needed to change decisions is scattered across every process.
A procurement business and a software business. Some told us to simply keep both. But CADDi is taking on the transformation of manufacturing, the largest industry in the world. A challenge this difficult demands the shortest path, taken boldly. In July 2024, we integrated the two businesses and set a new course as CADDi, the AI Data Platform for Manufacturing.
The dozens of software tools we had built in-house for every process of the CADDi Manufacturing business would now run on top of the platform. That is what the integration meant, and where its value lies. In September 2024, we launched CADDi Quote, a product dedicated to procurement.
And where is this transformation leading? In 2025, we answered with our 10-year vision.

Toward a Vertically Integrated AI Platform

As a step toward that vision, in August 2026 we relaunched our products from the ground up, vertically integrating everything from data ingestion to work execution on a single platform.

We built the four layers into a single platform to keep this cycle turning: toward all the operational data of the industry, across design, procurement, production, and quality; toward a platform where the more it is used, the more data circulates and the more accurate it becomes.
